Kathmandu. With the help of spikertraya Saraswati Chaudhary, Niruta Thagunna, Usha Bhandari, and Livero Salina Shrestha’s outstanding play, the Nepali women’s national volleyball team defeated India in a historic match.

On Saturday, Nepal achieved a historic win in the Kava Women’s Volleyball Nations League league stage match, defeating the formidable South Asian team, India, 3-2. In women’s volleyball, this is Nepal’s first victory over India.

Nepal created history by defeating India

At the covered hall of the National Sports Council in Tripureshwar, Nepal won the opening set of the match with ease, 25–18. After a 5-5 deadlock at one point, Nepal was able to hold onto an 11-6 lead. Nepal won the set by holding onto that lead.

Nepal performed poorly in the second set. India did not let its outstanding performance affect Nepal. Nepal dropped the second set 12–25 with ease. Nepal easily won by 25-17 in the third set, carrying over their performance from the first set.

The fourth set was close, with Nepal losing 18–25. They managed to get the score down to 15–18 at one point, but Nepal was unable to maintain their composure and lost the set as well.




Nepal gained a 4-2 lead and advanced to the fifth and final set, which become competitive and thrilling. Nepal managed to hold onto that advantage and win the set 15–13, creating history by defeating India.

Nepal has five points from two games after this victory. India leads the table with seven points after three games. Along with Nepal, other countries competing in the competition are India, Sri Lanka, Iran, and the Maldives. The semi-finals will include the top four teams.
