Kathmandu, Aug 7 : The local residents of three municipalities in Kathmandu district have sought clear information from the authorities regarding the land pooling to be carried out by Kathmandu Eastern Regional Urban Development Project.
Issuing a public notice on Wednesday in a national daily, the Project stated about the land pooling of 26,000 ropanis of land of Kageshwori Municipality, Gokarneshwor Municipality and Shankharapur Municipality. The people from the concerned sites demanded that they be made clear about the Project’s move to freeze their land.
In the notice, it is stated that the landowners were not allowed to divide their land plot in less than eight ana and develop physical infrastructures for two years.
However, the locals expressed their reservation for the gap in information flow regarding the decision of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.
Likewise, the affected communities are preparing to submit a memo to Mayor of Kageshwori Manohara, Krishnahari Thapa, on Sunday.
The people in the area have showed their concerns on the purpose of the land pooling, contribution of the landowners for town development, deadline of the project, obligations of the landowners and cost and benefit to the landowners from the project. (RSS)
