(Ramesh Giri) Bhaktapur, Aug 7 : The National Exam Board has finally postponed Grade 12 exams scheduled from August 15 to 25. The Board had completed all preparations for the exams earlier.
The Board meeting held today took decision on the postponement of the exams in view of the growing cases of coronavirus, said controller at Board, Krishna Sharma.
The Board has however been conducting the Grade 11 exams physically and managing home centres. Sharma added that 90 percent of Grade 11 exam was over.
The next meeting of the Board would decide on when and how the exam would be conducted. The notice to this regard would be issued 15 days before the commencement of exams, according to Sharma.
Earlier, Minister of State for Health, Umesh Shrestha, had announced that in view of the growing threat of coronavirus, internal evaluation of students could be held as exam instead of physical exam.
After Sate Minister Shrestha’s announcement, COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) had written to the Board to postpone the Grade 12 exams.
A total of 372,348 students were all set to appear the Grade 12 exam. Similarly, 4,310 exam centres were fixed for it. (RSS)
