KATHMANDU: One person has died as a result of flooding in the Balkhu River in Kathmandu. After finding the body beneath the Balkhu bridge, the police identified the dead as 45-year-old Ramswarup Mahatto of Banke.
The floodwaters carried Mahatto away, as stated by Dinesh Raj Mainali, a spokesman for the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. The victim’s family has been notified by the police, and plans are in place to turn over the body.
The Bagmati and a number of other rivers, including the Hanumante, Manohara, Dhobi Khola, Godawari, Bishnumati, Nakku, and Balkhu rivers, experienced flash floods on Tuesday night due to heavy rainfall.
